Experienced and Effective

With nearly 30 years of training experience, Sensei Anthony Brooks is the longest-practicing black belt instructor of authentic ninja and samurai combat arts in the greater Chicago area.

Brooks Martial Arts is the only fully-licensed training center in McHenry County for Bujinkan Budo Taijutsu.

Bujinkan Budo Taijutsu is the only true "Mixed Martial Arts" for the real world, with no rules and no boundaries. It is an all-in-one combat art that includes:

  • Ju-taijutsu (body structure, destabilizing an opponent, grappling, pins, chokes, ground fighting)
Other martial arts with similar themes:
Mixed Martial Arts (MMA), Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (BJJ), Judo, Jiu-jitsu, Jeet Kun Do (JKD), Aikido, Aiki-jujutsu

  • Dakentaijutsu (punches and strikes)
Other martial arts with similar themes:
    Karate / Karate-do, Karate-jutsu

  • Kicking and sweeping
Other martial arts with similar themes:
Tae Kwon Do, Muay Thai, kickboxing

  • Kenjutsu (sword fighting)
Other martial arts with similar themes:
    Kendo, Iaido, Tameshigiri

  • Ninjutsu / Ninpo (stealth, camoflauge, strategy)

  • Weapons fighting, including guns, chains, bo, knives, swords, and many more.
Other martial arts with similar themes:
    Kung fu, Tai Chi Chuan

  • Multiple-attacker techniques and strategies.

  • Kyo-jutsu (controlling the opponent's perceptions)

  • Koppo-jutsu (controlling bone structure, bone strikes, joint locks, bone breaks)

  • Koshi-jutsu (finger strikes and tears to soft tissue, nerves, and pressure points)

  • Ukemi (tumbling, rolls, dives, break falls)

Ninja and Samurai were the ultimate fighters when it came to hand to hand combat and personal weaponry. The same nine martial arts schools they taught have been handed down and perfected over the years to become the modern art of Bujinkan Budo Taijutusu.
